The property stands well apart from any others amidst over 100 acres (40 hectares) of trees and sheep-grazing meadows. A 43 feet x 23 feet (13 metres x 7 metres) solar-heated swimming pool is set in the old walled garden at the rear of the main house amidst landscaped lawns and shrubs adjoining the old piggery, which now boasts a self-contained apartment of two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchenette (but no pigs!). The double-height main kitchen features the original inglenook fireplace with a large wood-burning stove. The main living room is enhanced by an enormous stone fireplace complete with a one-metre-wide dog grate. Heavily beamed ceilings and solid traditional furnishings complete the typical Portuguese manor setting.
