LA GRANGE
La Grange is a stone-and-oak-framed barn, some 250 years old, and converted to a very high standard. The property is situated in deep country, some 40 minutes north-west of Limoges, in the hamlet of Les Combes, three kilometres from Magnac Laval. It stands within its own half-acre (2000 square metres) garden, which is set in the wooded parkland of the nearby château overlooking two small lakes. For the more active, the area abounds with walks, cycle hire is available from several local shops, and Lac St Pardoux and Lac Eguzon - both well-known for watersports and fine sandy fresh-water beaches - are a 20-minute and a 40-minute drive away, respectively. The barn has a quarry-tiled entrance hall, and is converted to contain six double bedrooms with three ensuite bathrooms and two further shared bathrooms. There is a large lounge and separate large dining room, both approximately 20 feet x 20 feet (6 metres x 6 metres) both with seating for 14, with a log-burning stove in the dining room. The kitchen is furnished with a dishwasher, a fridge/freezer, a microwave oven and an electric oven with a gas/electric hob, and there is a further downstairs toilet and shower room. Outside there is a lovely new heated pool 29 feet x 16 feet (9 metres x 5 metres) with a large stone-paved terracing on the south front of the house, incorporating a stone-built barbeque. There is a garage and parking, plus four bicycles, and a variety of garden chairs, beach chairs and sunloungers. Many small but very good restaurants can be found within 15 minutes drive in the surrounding villages, and new tennis courts are available only a five-minute drive away. Accommodation, Availability and Cost La Grange can accommodate a maximum of 13x persons. From its opening the barn is available throughout the year, and prices vary depending on the time of the season. Costs per week, 2007/2008 season:
